Risotto originated from northern Italy, especially in Lombardy, Piedmont and Veneto. Risotto is usually referred to rice that is slightly fried with oil (preferably olive oil) and mixed with a flavored broth which result in a creamy rice dish. It can be served as a side dish or main course when many nutritive ingredients are added.
